GJ Floors used Magento 1 which went end-of-life on June 1, 2020. This was a good opportunity to orientate for a new future proof eCommerce platform. Important features that the new platform should have were scalability, the ability to manage multiple shops from one environment and functionality for GJ Floors' international ambitions.
To choose the right eCommerce platform, GJ Floors compared multiple platforms with each other and also considered switching to Magento 2. That CloudSuite makes it possible to manage both B2B and B2C webshops from one environment, monthly product releases for all customers and that it is easy to add new webshops, were convincing reasons for GJ Floors to choose the CloudSuite platform.

Both on the product list page (PLP) and product detail page (PDP) you as a visitor can see at a glance the most important product properties to make a choice which products you want to view and / or buy. You can use this textually but also visually. GJ Floors uses featured highlights visually to show the product properties “softness” and “authenticity” for synthetic grass, for example.
With the “Dimension Product” feature, GJ Floors offers the possibility to order carpets, red carpets and artificial grass by length. The visitor enters a length in decimals and the webshop automatically calculates the area. The visitor then places the order in the shopping cart and it can be paid for.
Based on the entered length of a product, the webshop shows the correct amount of cross-sell products. At grasexpert.com it concerns, for example, artificial grass hooks, self-adhesive tape and pressure distribution cloth. The visitor can place this in the shopping cart from the PDP in one go. On one hand, this is very user-friendly and thus contributes to an optimal shopping experience. On the other hand, it increases the turnover per order.
