Versluis is the premier supplier and partner for retail and industry in the field of painting tools. With a wide range of products, from high-quality brushes and rollers to paint trays and essential accessories, Versluis provides retailers weekly with the products they resell. What makes Versluis unique is that they independently import and manage their three proprietary brands (Flensburg, Febo, and Mondial) worldwide. Digitalization and optimal online ordering convenience for the retailer are central to the long-term vision of the organization.

The main challenges

The previous e-commerce platform of Versluis caused a fair amount of frustration. It had reached its limits, leading to a number of clear criteria for the search for a new partner:

No room for innovation

The old, consumer-oriented system no longer offered room for B2B innovation. Versluis was looking for a platform that does move along with their ambitions.

Costs and updates under control

The costs for the previous platform ultimately doubled without anything changing. Versluis wanted to get rid of the maze of expensive, mandatory updates and malfunctioning plug-ins.

Relieving technical burdens

The platform had to be so intuitive that both customers and the internal team could work with it directly, without constantly needing to involve the IT department or an external party.

Seamless integration of the scan app

For retailers, the ability to order directly from the shop floor is crucial. Preserving and optimizing this functionality was a hard requirement.

Optimization of the ordering process

Together with ERP partner WCG Group and the consultants from CloudSuite, the new platform was realized in just under six months. Thanks to a tight project plan and thorough preparation beforehand—with the PIM system and all visual assets already organized in advance—the technical integration went flawlessly. The project team tackled the complex backend challenges among themselves, allowing Versluis to focus entirely on user adoption.

The result in practice is a breath of fresh air. Customers find their way within the new, clean environment much faster. Although the total number of orders has remained stable, we see a significant increase in the number of order lines per order. Customers are ordering a wider variety of products because the assortment is easier to find, which directly leads to nice revenue growth.

Ambitions of Versluis

Putting the visual finishing touches in place

Although the webshop is technically rock-solid, Versluis wants to take the time over the coming year to further refine the visual layout and details.

Increasing independence through support

The personal ambition of the administrator is to leverage the knowledge of the CloudSuite support department to take on even more management and minor adjustments to the webshop independently.
