With more than 90,000 m3 annually from 27 countries, International Plywood is one of the larger independent importers of wooden panel materials. They offer a wide range of panel material supplemented with package services for the wood and building materials trade and specific segments in the industry, such as bodywork construction, packaging industry and parquet industry in Europe. The new webshop is the first step towards digitization in order to be the best supplier in the timber trade with customer-oriented solutions.
International Plywood uses many functionalities of the CloudSuite eCommerce platform. The main ones below:
For International Plywood, the orientation towards an eCommerce platform started from a future oriented need. The aim was to serve the customer better and to respond to the new generation that no longer wants to order by telephone or fax, but online. International Plywood wanted to be the first to make the step to digitization in their market.
After researching various eCommerce platforms such as Magento and Sana Commerce, the choice fell on the CloudSuite eCommerce platform. The focus was on platform functionality such as the integrated Product Information Management (PIM) system and the clear structure of the platform.

International Plywood uses a number of interesting features of the CloudSuite eCommerce platform:
International Plywood offers a special price for combinations of different products. The shopping cart retrieves the combination price in real time from the ERP system. The graduated scale can consist of several pieces of the same product or full packs of different products. The packaging unit is listed for each product so that it is immediately clear to how many packs which price applies. The total number of full packs determines the real time graduated price in the shopping cart.
To give even more flexibility and convenience in the ordering process, the International Plywood webshop offers a functionality whereby the customer places an order in a predefined CSV file. In that case, the customer does not have to select the products in the webshop, but upload the CSV file and pay for the order. This makes placing an order even easier and more efficient for the customer.
In order to offer customers the possibility to make repeat purchases in a user friendly way, International Plywood offers their customers the option to create one or more order lists. This is a list of products that they can compile and manage themselves. As a result, the customer does not have to look up all products in the webshop with every order.
Another unique and fun feature that International Plywood uses is Hotspots. For example, they show applications of their products in an image and when you move your mouse over a hotspot, the relevant product appears in an overlay. The visitor can then click directly to the product detail page of the relevant product.
In order to be able to serve customers better in the preliminary phase, International Plywood wants to add the option to have customers request quotes from the webshop. This gives the customer, in addition to an order option, the option to first request a quotation and to agree to it, before they place the order definitively.
In order to draw more attention to the possibilities that the products of International Plywood offer, they want to add inspiration content to the webshop. For this they use the CloudSuite Content Management System (CMS) with which blog and news articles can be created.
