The ongoing digital revolution is changing consumer expectations – in the gardening sector like any other. The role of the physical shop is therefore changing from a space where you just go to buy to somewhere where you expect to have an experience. At the moment, the gardening sector is not really responding to this shift in customer expectations. The blue paper ‘Digital innovation within the gardening sector’ analyses the likely demands and expectations of the consumer in 2022. The paper goes on to recommend a possible solution in the form of a specialized online platform that offers what the consumer of the future will be looking for: inspiration, information, and a true bespoke, one-stop- shop experience.
