With its sparkling and modern Christmas decorations, Vondels went live on September 1 with a new webshop. The new B2B shop went live on August 1, and now the B2C shop has been added to the CloudSuite environment. The result is a fresh-looking international multi-shop that is very well received by both business and private Vondels customers.
Before Vondels became a CloudSuite customer, they used Magento. After Magento 1 was no longer supported, they switched to Magento 2. Due to the amount of customization, this upgrade was a lot of work. When this version again needed a major upgrade, Vondels decided to look for a future-proof eCommerce platform that suits them better.
Vondels was secretly a bit jealous of the atmospheric Pottery Pots webshop and this brought them into contact with CloudSuite. An important requirement for the new eCommerce platform was good collaboration between B2B and B2C. Previously, it was not always clear to the visitor where to log in.
In addition, Vondels no longer wanted to be dependent on customization and they wanted to grow along with the developments in the market without having enormous implications. CloudSuite was the perfect match due to the rich platform functionalities, monthly updates, multi-shop engine and international capabilities.
CloudSuite has built a webshop on which the visitor can switch between the B2B and B2C webshop by means of a switch. As a result, there is a seamless collaboration between both shops and the visitor always knows which shop he is in. The B2C webshop is an open webshop where the products are immediately displayed. To access the B2B webshop, the visitor must first register or log in.
Because Vondels has customers worldwide, the webshop can be viewed in 3 languages. In general, it has been decided to show all prices in euros and for the American market the webshop shows all prices in dollars. A separate registration process has also been set up for the US in connection with country-specific payment and delivery conditions.
At Vondels, several factors play a role in the complexity of the design of their payment methods and conditions. For example, early in the season there are different discount rates than later in the season and the deposit options also vary throughout the year. Vondels can manage this completely by themselves in CloudSuite, where this was previously not possible in Magento.
Vondels uses the ERP system Exact Online. The integration between Exact and their CloudSuite environment has been made by Jorr-ITsolutions.
Vondels took the moment to immediately give the webshop a visual update. In the new webshop, matching their products, there is much more room for inspiration and the mobile webshop experience is no longer inferior to desktop. The many positive reactions from customers already confirm that the new webshop is very popular!
A separate pre-order webshop from Vondels will also open shortly. Here, B2B customers can place a pre-order for the new season. A conscious decision was made to implement a separate pre-order shop. This clear distinction not only makes for a more logical and better UX, but also more flexibility. Customers can now pre-order on the pre-order shop 2 months earlier, while the B2B webshop is still selling from stock (current season). Previously, the stock season had to be closed in Magento before the pre-order season could be activated.
We are very pleased with the go-live of the attractive Vondels webshop and look forward to a great further collaboration.
